Art and creativity inspired by Anatomy and Science

Karine Jollet

Karine Jollet creates her anatomical organs and bones from “old bed sheets and shirts, embroided handkerchieves and second-hand fabrics that I cut up, put the fragments together, pad them and then sew them by hand”. Karine says of her inspiration; “Fabrics are materials that came naturally to me as an analogy to our own biological tissues: bones, fibres, cristalls…” [taken from her site]

I crossed paths with this amazing collection of anatomical organs by a french artist called Karine Jollet via the wordpress blog, Anatomy UK..

This makes me want to bear-hug a brain or ribcage, it is a beautifully crafted collection using old to create soft and cuddle friendly grotesque! i LOVE it!
