HALLOWEEN WEEK 1: Anatomical Cakes

All this week I will be doing Halloween related posts after being reminded by a dear friend sporting a fetching ‘Day of the Dead’ Sugar skull ring the other day; ‘Halloween is not just a day, it is a season’. So here are my favourite seasonal suggestions to make sure you have a gruesomely dead Halloween…..

These bloody cupcakes are from Lily Vanili’s ‘A Zombie Ate My Cupcake‘. In her recipe book you will find out how to make a plethora of gruesome cakes; Day of the Dead Skulls, Eerie Eyeballs, Blood Stained Brains, Morbid Meringue Bones, and above Shattered Glass and Bleeding Hearts.

Alternatively you could grace your dinner table with Panna Cotta Brain with Pomegranite Sauce. Instructions of how to make it are here.

As far as brain cakes go, this one (below) has to be my favourite so far. I could not find who made it tho…Source

There are plenty of moulds around to help you create a culinary wonder, such as Fred and Friends Brain Ice Cube Tray , Horror Heart and Brain Jelly moulds , and Nomskull Skull Cake Moulds (all below).

If you need some help, why not check out the chocolate addict’s video;
