Memento Mori on BBC Antiques Roadshow

This Memento Mori showed up on BBC’s Antiques Roadshow on Sunday. Lars Tharp was the bone specialist who explained that ‘every scholar had something in the collection that reminded them of their mortality’. This skull and snake was carved (although he didn’t say what from – presuming ivory?) 100 years ago, possibly in India and is worth £3-4,000.
