Eyeball Jewellery

So we’ve known since 2004 that the Netherlands Institute for Innovative Ocular Surgery had patented the procedure for adorning eyeballs with jewellery. Choosing from a heart or half moon and parting with 500-1000 euros, under local anaesthetic, you could have one of these platinum shapes inserted under your conjunctiva. Since the release of this news, things have gone quiet…. perhaps it’s because UK eye specialists disapproved and thought it could move around and cause scarring and bleeding… or perhaps the possible recipients watched the video of how they do it; (warning: this footage is graphic and not for the squeamish)
